Free Housing Project has one simple intention, create sustainable housing with an organic food garden and give them away!
Shelter, organic food, education and health care are all human rights and must be free/affordable to all.
Free Housing Project organizes kind volunteers and completes cool housing projects, globally. Most of our materials are recycled and gifted. We also crowd-source funds needed for the land. We can build a cool Container home for $2500 to $5000 for a family of four.
We Gift & sell discounted property to vets, single mom’s, the handicap, seniors, and families who want to create a healthy planet by becoming self-sustainable.
This means growing free organic food, harvest clean water, install solar electricity, and transition to electric cars. Most importantly, moving away from harmful capitalism.
Free Housing Project also provides free online education, sustainable job skills, holistic healthcare and communities that are safe and not occupied by economic racism and oppressive dangerous police.
Join our Loving Sharing Global Community Movement and Change the World. Simply walk away from our current system can create a new loving and safe space. We will match you with a local community.
A white picket fence outlining a neatly groomed yard in a precisely planned development has been the stereotypical “American dream” for years. But now, some Americans are dreaming of living with “more space, less government, and true independence.” The movement is known as “off –the-grid” living, and it’s catching on in rural areas.
Going off the grid means living off the land and without government assistance. Millions of people live off the grid! The Amish, many Asians & Jews. Globally, hundreds of millions of indigenous people live off the grid. How to live for free? Barter for housing, land, food, and stuff… just get creative.
The movement has garnered a lot of buzz in recent years, and these sustainable communities have been springing up in rural areas all across the country. Although those who live off the grid are cut off from traditional power, sewage, water and gas lines, these sustainable communities generate their own electricity and communicate via satellites.
Hidden in Central Oregon, Three Rivers Recreation Area is home to about 625 off-the-grid homeowners. The 4,000-acre community offers solar-powered electricity, high-speed internet and satellite television. But if you’re a little more outdoorsy, there are plenty of opportunities for riding dirt bikes, hunting, fishing and stargazing. The properties in the community range from simple campsites to cabins to million-dollar homes, so there’s sure to be something in your price range at Three Rivers.
Greater World Community
The Greater World Community is home to the world’s first “Earthship” subdivision. Earthship homes are sustainable, solar-powered buildings made of eco-friendly materials, like adobe and recycled tires. Sprawled out over 634 acres in Taos, N.M., the Greater World Community offers residents open green space with hiking, biking and parks.
While some off the grid communities pop up because homeowners are out of reach from any power companies, others are planned communities. Breitenbush is a planned, off-the-grid community in Oregon with about 60 permanent residents. The Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat and Conference Center also draws in tourists to the community. What makes this off-the-grid community so special is that it’s heated by geothermal wells.
Nestled in the mountains of North Carolina, just outside of Asheville, Earthaven is a planned community that focuses on being sustainable. Its 60 residents live in homes powered by solar power and hydropower. The village is set on 320 acres of land and hopes to grow to be a community of 150 residents.
While most off-the-grid communities are made up of several homes, Emerald Earth has a single home in its community that is home to a dozen residents. There’s also no need for a septic system in this community because it runs on a composting outhouse. The communal house sits on 189 acres in Mendocino County, Calif.
Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage
Dancing Rabbit is an ecovillage in northeast Missouri that’s home to 45 residents dedicated to living sustainably and making cultural change. The community focuses on living simply, using renewable energy and building homes out of sustainable and reclaimed materials.
Twin Oaks Community
Just because you go off the grid doesn’t mean you have to give up working and making money. At the Twin Oaks Community, residents work making and selling hammocks and tofu that they distribute commercially. The residents split the profits and make a stipend and receive health care benefits. The community was established in 1967 and sits on 450 acres in rural central Virginia. Beyonce has quietly given $7 million throughout the past few years to the Knowles-Temenos Place Apartments in her hometown of Houston, as KHOU 11 News reported.
Knowles-Temenos Place Apartments has space available for 43 individuals, and houses men and women who otherwise would likely be homeless. The facility supports its residents by providing meals, job readiness training, HIV/AIDS screenings and case management services, with an overall goal for residents to reach full self-sufficiency.
“She’s an incredible human being,” Rev. Rudy Rasmus, who unearthed Beyonce’s selfless donations to the public, told KHOU 11 News. He married Beyonce to rapper Jay-Z in 2008 and has worked personally with the singer in her efforts to help Houston’s homeless. “[She] has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here.”
Houston has seen significant progress in its fight against homelessness. A 2014 Houston Homeless Count showed that on a given night about 5,351 people in the city were living without stable shelter — a 37 percent drop from 2011. In June, the Coalition for the Homeless in Houston announced that the city has housed 1,510 chronically homeless individuals since January 2012 as part of a national campaign to combat homelessness from coast-to-coast.
“Houston is leading the charge to end chronic homelessness,” Marilyn Brown, President & CEO of the Coalition, said in a press release. “Our success as part of the 100,000 Homes Campaign proves that permanent housing coupled with support services works.”

“I’ve known Bill Cosby for over 28 years. He is considered a social Terrorist!”
“You know who I am; I’m a model and married to a rock star! Bill has been a beloved source of light for 60 years… so, how did we get here? How did our beloved BLACK icon become a ‘Social Terrorist’? Just review black history in America and you know how we got here.”
Whoopi Goldberg said ““As more information comes out, people can make judgments. I don’t like snap judgments,” Goldberg said. “He has not been proven a rapist.”
Keshia Knight Pulliam
After being the first contestant fired from Celebrity Apprentice for not calling Cosby for a fundraising check, the actress spoke out about the unfair decision. Pulliam refused to call her former TV dad because she has not spoken to him in five years. Though they do not communicate regularly, she made sure to defend his honor, telling Today, “All I can speak to is the man I know and I love the fact that he has been such an example [and] you can’t take away from the great that he has done.”
Perhaps the most heavily anticipated opinion came from Cosby’s former TV wife Phylicia Rashad, who thinks the controversy is nothing more than a ploy to damage the actor’s career. Speaking with Showbiz 411, she said, “Forget these women. What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it’s orchestrated. I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s the legacy.” Rashad says she was misquoted with the line “forget these women,” but stands by supporting her TV husband.
How America handles Black Men
I also know that 90% of the global population is controlled and oppressed by 10% of the Europeans population. Yes, this includes the Democratic Republic of America. America may have the worst human rights violations than any industrialized country in the world. Why?
One in every three black males born today can expect to go to prison at some point in their life, compared with one in every six Latino males, and one in every 17 white males, if current incarceration trends continue. In late 1960s & early 1970s, the majority of people in prison were white males. Then our government flooded the black community with drugs because of the fear of the Black Panther Party. (The Black Panther Party educated, provided food and protection from the police for black people). The Black Panther Party was never violent or criminally oriented… that is a myth continued by white supremacist. (Today, it’s legal to open carry a loaded gun in most states. But, cops will arrest and kill a black man for following the legal open carry laws.) For example, Tamir Rice who was shot and killed by a cop in Cleveland, Ohio… it’s legal to open and carry a gun in Ohio. Tamir Rice, legally could carry a loaded gun in Ohio. (So, why was he shot for obeying the law?)
These are among the many pieces of evidence cited by the Sentencing Project, a Washington, D.C.-based group that advocates for prison reform, in a report on the staggering racial disparities that permeate the American criminal justice system.
The report was submitted to the U.N. Human Rights Committee this week in advance of the U.N.’s review of American compliance with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights later this month. It argues that racial disparity pervades “every stage of the United States criminal justice system, from arrest to trial to sentencing.”
“Racial minorities are more likely than white Americans to be arrested,” the report explains. “Once arrested, they are more likely to be convicted; and once convicted; they are more likely to face stiff sentences fr non-violent crimes.”
What does this have to do with Bill Cosby or any other successful or ordinary black man in America? Simple. If a black man or woman exerts power over their oppressor they will be targeted, murdered and or oppressed by white supremacy. THIS IS A FACT!
Shameful Acts of Terrorism Against Black People That Mainstream Media Has Chosen to Ignore
MOVE Bombing in Philadelphia It was about 30 years ago that police forces proved just how brutal they could be when it came to dealing with the Black community. Philadelphia officers successfully carried out a massive mission to bomb the headquarters of a group called MOVE, a 1996 report by CNN explains. The 1985 the American Government backed bombing targeted MOVE because the organization consisted of mostly Black members who adopted the last name “Africa.” They supported simplistic lifestyles that shunned technology and advocated for a return to nature. (In other words, they were simply off the grid.) Just like this website that you are currently on. We show people how to live off the grid and outside of oppressive governmental rule.
The deadly bombing came during an intense police stand-off with the MOVE members after officers had already slammed many members with what were considered to be bogus charges of parole violation, contempt of court and making terroristic threats, according to a report titled “It Looks Just Like a War Zone.” More than 60 homes were destroyed in the resulting blaze. A total of 11 Black people, including five children, were killed.
Tulsa Race Riot Race riots were much too common throughout the 1900s, but the Tulsa race riots were unique in the fact that it targeted the wealthiest Black community in the U.S. at the time — Tulsa, Oklahoma, which was also known as the Black Wall Street. In 1921, a group of white people attacked the community in an assault that lasted roughly 16 hours. According to “Riot and Remembrance: The Tulsa Race War and Its Legacy,” more than 800 people were taken to the hospital, roughly 10,000 Black people were left homeless, more than 6,000 Black residents in the district were arrested and detained after they tried to defend themselves against the white mobs and about 35 city blocks were destroyed by fires. While the official death tolls varied greatly, a report titled “A Black Holocaust in America” estimated more than 800 people were killed simply because the white landowners felt threatened by this Black community’s financial success.
Herero – Aufstand: Hereros, die vor den deutschen Truppen gefl chtet sind, nach ihrer R ckkehr aus der Omaheke W ste. 1904/05 – ver ffentlicht 1907
The Black Holocaust In the 1890s, Black people were brutally tortured in German concentration camps in what is now Namibia, according to the book “Germany’s Black Holocaust, 1890-1945: The Untold Truth.” Black people were the subjects of unspeakably horrendous medical experiments that the book’s author, historian and university instructor Firpo W. Carr says were never placed upon the Jews. “Thousands of Africans were massacred,” Carr wrote. “Regrettably, historians neglected to properly register the slaughter — that is, to lift it from the footnote of history that it had been relegated to.”
Over a 245 year period, 60 million blacks were murdered, died and tortured during the middle passage… another Black Holocaust that is never recognized in the history of America. The Black American Holocaust was 239 years longer and murdered 10 times more people than The Jewish Holocaust, yet, the Jews receive $3 Billion dollars in reparations annually from the US? Not a dime to the Black American Holocaust? Personally, I think this is the fault of Black people. I suggest black and brown people divest 100% of their labor, money, time and political will to any government that oppresses them. (That means do not buy anything from your oppressor, don’t pay taxes, don’t work, don’t buy food, etc…) Move off the Grid like the Amish!
The Epidemic of Lynching When I think of Bill Cosby, I think of legalized lynching in America. Instead of ropes, today, white supremacy back media does all the dirty work. Also, white cops have the legal right to murder 1000s of unarmed black men annually in America. Legalized lynching is still pervasive in America. 79% of all prosecutors in America are white men… this is why 41% of white criminals get off from serving time and millions of blacks receive unfair sentencing.
According to the FBI’s official website, an act that violates federal or state law and intends to “intimidate or coerce a civilian population” is considered to be domestic terrorism. There is no arguing that the lynching of massive numbers of Black people fits that description. Recently, a report titled “Lynching in America: Confronting the Legacy of Racial Terror” revealed that nearly 5,000 plus Black people had been lynched in the U.S. alone between 1877 and 1950. This number doesn’t count the many Black people who were lynched and secretly disposed of nor does it count the many other Black communities across the globe that was plagued by lynching. Even today, mainstream media outlets are meekly tip-toeing around the brutal truth of America’s racist roots. An article about the report published by The New York Times was harshly criticized after the outlet managed to cover the entire report without ever really stating the race of the people who were doing all the lynching.
The Epidemic of Police Brutality The epidemic of police brutality against the Black community is a problem that existed centuries ago and is still plaguing America now. While mainstream media provided racially biased coverage of the deaths of unarmed teen Michael Brown and Staten Island father Eric Garner, this coverage came after years of ignoring Black people who were gunned down by police officers and was likely just a reaction to the outrage on social media as race discussions dominated cyberspace. Even as news outlets discussed the deaths of Brown and Garner, many other unarmed Black people were being killed by police officers and never saw a single media headline. Meanwhile, several police departments, like the Cleveland Police Department and the Chicago Police Department, have been under investigation after studies supported the theory that the departments are launching racially charged attacks on the Black community. The We Charge Genocide coalition has even accused the Chicago Police Department of torture and recently presented its own study to the United Nations.
U.S. Invasion of Panama Now, white supremacy is a global act of terrorism on black and brown people. America with other global imperialist countries have invaded over 70 countries (Mostly for theft of resources or land).
Ironically enough, the 1989 U.S. invasion of Panama was code-named Operation Just Cause, but many would argue that there was nothing just about the chaotic attack on these Black communities. Human rights strategist Ajamu Baraka referred to the invasion as a reminder that the U.S.’s disregard for Black lives extends well beyond its own borders. “The Black lives taken by the numerous assaults on Panama 25 years ago should be a sober reminder that U.S. state violence is not confined to ghettoes and barrios of the U.S. but is a central component of the racist, colonial capitalist project that is the U.S,” Baraka said of the attack. “We cannot pretend that police brutality in the U.S. and the devaluation of Black life that it represents is restricted just to the Black experience in the heart of the U.S. empire.”Reports from Al Jazeera explained that an accurate death toll of the attack isn’t available because many bodies of Black civilians were piled in the streets and burned.
Genocide in Darfur… over 20 million blacks murdered in Darfur, doesn’t even make the news. Why? It’s an American backed war to steal resources. Back in 1989, the seeds were planted for what would grow to be a historic genocide in Darfur, a large region in Sudan that is home to roughly 6 million people. The American backed Gen. Omar Bashir took control of the country by military coup and allowed for the National Islamic Front government to “inflame regional tensions,” an article published by the United Human Rights Council explained. As weapons started to pour into the area, violent conflicts started sparking between African farmers and nomadic Arab tribes. In essence, the 10% of white supremacist wanted free resources and started a war… so, they could simply steal the land. America and other countries do this all the time. This is why America occupies over 100 countries to this day. Instead of fair trade agreements, we steal and murder.
Silent Parade of 1917 On July 28, 1917, a group of about 8,000 to 10,000 Black people came together for a parade to protest anti-Black violence and lynching. The parade came after news spread of the East St. Louis Riots that were sparked in May of the same year. Unfortunately, the elite community in New York stood in solidarity with the people who were massacring Black people all across the country. White mobs interrupted the parade and started killing unarmed Black civilians, according to an encyclopedia named after W.E.B. Du Bois. Reports of death tolls during the Silent Parade vary, with some reports suggesting roughly 40 Black people were killed while others claim more than 250 were killed.
What does this have to do with Bill Cosby being arrested?
In order for the 10% to control the 90%; (who happen to be people of color.) they have to disrupt the narrative of black people globally. The 10% has to white wash the entire history of the world… by replacing Lucy (the first black woman – whose bones were discovered in Africa 3 to 4 million years ago) was replaced by a fable of white Adam & Eve who existed a few thousand years ago.
280,000 years ago, a black woman in West Africa gave birth to all of humanity. Europeans crafted a story that God created Adam & Eve and gave birth to mankind? This is why black people have been the focus of domestic and global terrorism for thousands of years or since Europeans discovered black and brown people and their land and resources. White supremacy is all about money, land and resources. (http://freeyourmindandthink.info/the-first-humans-on-earth/)
As a professional model; almost every photographer, agent, actor and model does drugs. PCP, Quaaludes, Mescaline, Coke, weed, etc… were like candy in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
Bill Cosby didn’t rape anyone? Quaaludes do not ‘KNOCK YOU OUT’!!! Weed will get you higher than one Quaalude. Also, it takes about an hour for Quaaludes to kick in… NOT A DATE RAPE DRUG!
Here is a list of date rape drugs: Ecstasy / XTC, Rohypnol, Ketamine, GHB, and Alcohol is the #1 date rape drug on the market… instead they send millions of people to jail for weed?
Cosby is a threat to the Imperialist empire. He has grand ideas to uplift black people globally and this frightens the white imperialist and they simply took him down. Cosby and his beloved wife have educated thousands of black students, uplifted the culture in the 70s, 80s, 90s & 21st century and had planned to own a major television network and change the black narrative in the news.
Cosby’s efforts were similar to Black Wall Street, Move, the Black Panthers social programs, Mugabe in Zimbabwe, and Castro in Cuba. If any black man or global leader doesn’t oppress its people–to the white Imperialist agenda–they are murdered or ruined–this is a historical documented fact.
Cosby marching in Selma
Bill Cosby provides two narratives. 1) This media driven Cosby scandal maintains the negative narrative of all black men. (Raping white women is a long standing false narrative used to Lynch thousands of black men, burn down Black Wall Street and murder millions of black men like Emmet Till, without cause.)
2) The Cosby story is a distraction from the global brutality and oppression of black and brown people. For example, this story distracts us from the TPP Agreement that will further enslave (by the American and European Oligarchs) and steal from 11 black and brown countries. TPP forces our poison foods (gmo) on 11 nations. This story will distract black people from the illegal enslavement of millions of black people in occupied communities and the private industrial prison complex in America. Dehumanize the most beloved black man / father in America and you can easily dehumanize all black men. (This is not a new concept.)
(One black man or woman in jail for 30 years will make the state and companies tens of million dollars per inmate. Prison Industrial Complex could be more profitable than slavery. Slavery made America the richest country in the world and made over $250 Trillion dollars.)
Welcome to the new slave industry… long sentencing for non-violent small crimes. You can get 30 years for car jacking and if you have a knife, 60 years? You only get 7 years for murder and 3 plus years for raping an infant… these crimes are mostly committed by white men. Imagine, a black man can get 20 years for having weed, but, a white man will only get 2 plus years for raping a 2 year old? (Slavery to modern day Jim Crow laws has made America over $250 Trillion dollars in free black slave labor).
There is an estimate of 5 million pedophiles in America and 90% are white… but, police don’t go after these very dangerous violent criminals who rape and murder our children. They focus on black men who may have a joint and or owe child support. Also, pedophiles are very easy to find via their IP address on the computer.
OK. Before responding out of anger, please take a few minutes and meditate on the above facts. Cosby admitted to doing drugs with one woman. It was of mutual consent… heck, I’ve done drugs with friends. If there was a case with evidence, he would have been arrested.
While reading this story on Bill Cosby… You have been distracted from 20 million innocent black people in the Congo–who have been murdered by the American government and other industrialized countries so we can steal the components for our computers and phones.
You have been distracted from fast track TPP… that will outsource more jobs outside of America and pay foreign workers less than sixty cents hourly. Since, Clinton passed his fair-trade policy, America has lost over 5 million jobs. Bill Cosby is nothing more than mass distraction while we all get raped by our government and the media.
Please read the deposition before lynching, yet, another black man. Marcus Garvey, Harriet Tubman, Emmett Till, Ida B. Wells, Malcom X, King, Serena Williams, etc… considered terrorist by white supremacy.
“Update (14 July 15) : What’s funny is that almost none of you read the deposition. All of the victims admit they went back to Bill or describe a situation that was not rape or sexual assault yet they continue to see him. Also, one woman said she took drugs with Bill Cosby and it was consensual.
Page 19 of the deposition:
”Lawyer for the women: Ms Troani question : She seems to say in this report that after the initial meeting she did not see you again until she was 21. Is that correct? Cosby: I have no idea. Cosby’s Lawyer: The question seems she unequivocally states. That’s an incorrect statement. She states she spent a 2 week period in Lake Tahoe with Mr. Cosby when she was 21. Lawyer for the women: Ms Troani: I don’t think its clear if you saw her in between that time. And you do not know if you saw her from the time of initial contact until she meet you in Lake Tahoe?
For those of you reading this to put this into context that woman says she was raped by Cosby at the age of 19 then the LAWYER REPRESENTING THE WOMEN ADMITS SHE MEET COSBY AFTER THAT WHEN SHE WAS 21! Cosby’s lawyer then corrects her & says no not only did she meet him but she spent 2 weeks with him on vacation with Cosby in Lake Tahoe 2 yrs after her “rape”! The lawyer representing the women AGAIN admits the woman as with the other one in question in this deposition went back to Bill on vacation etc.”

Once you find the perfect spot of land to enjoy a more self-reliant lifestyle, it is time to start building a home. A traditional brick and mortar home or a modular might be the easiest choices, but several types of unconventional dwellings offer far more opportunities to employ more sustainable and defendable systems on the property.
Earth berm homes utilize the architectural process of using soil against multiple walls to garner thermal mass. The practice reduced heat loss and helps sustain a steady temperature inside the home. Earth berm homes have become a favorite among off-the-grid families because they enhance the ability to use passive solar power, even in colder climates. Although the earth berm homes have become extremely popular in the past decade, they have been around since folks started gathering rocks and logs to craft shelters.
Types of earth berm homes
There are basically three different types of earth berm homes: 1) earth-covered, 2) earth-bunded, and 3) subterranean.
An earth-covered home can have soil solely on the roof or be an extension of earth berm dwelling side projects.
An earth-bunded home is a dwelling in which a thermal mass element is significantly applied to insulate one or more the sheltered side elevations of the building.
A subterranean home is a structure where the vast majority of the home is covered by soil.
Earth berm homes are often built into a hillside or slope, but sometime are constructed after land is excavated and the house is set below ground. In addition to generating thermal mass to help reduce energy consumption and costs, the earthen wall coverings also provide added protection for the home. Earthen homes are often touted as being quitter, the soil against the exterior walls help in reduce outside noise. From a defensive standpoint, the home is reportedly easier to defend when one or more walls, or the roof, are pressed against a hillside or slope.
From a fire prevention standpoint, earth berm homes also have distinct advantages. When the homes themselves are built out of storage containers or poured concrete walls, the fire prevention aspect is further enhanced. When designing an earth berm home, concerns regarding lack of light and fire safety should be a top priority during the initial stages of the planning process.
I recently toured an earth berm home in southern Ohio owned by Selena and Randy Yates. Selena and her late husband Frank Pittman built the home about 30 years ago. When Frank was in the process of convincing Selena that an enhanced thermal mass dwelling was the way to, he found an existing earth berm house also located in Vinton County, for her to view. Being an incredibly sweet and giving woman, Selena readily agreed to her husband’s dream home, with one provision – he did not put dirt above her head.
Selena and Randy Yates
Although Selena is not claustrophobic, the thought of essentially being buried did not appeal to her at all. Unlike Selena, I am incredibly claustrophobic, and got a bit anxious at the mere thought of touring their home.
My visit had a two-fold purpose: First as research for off-the-grid living home styles, and second because my own husband wants our next home to be an earth berm. I want a shipping container house with an atrium for my tortoises, so we decided upon a combined approach, providing I “survived” being inside Randy and Selena’s house. I was pleasantly surprised about the cozy yet unconfined atmosphere inside the house. The home is earth berm on two sides and built into a hillside. The house once had soil on three sides, but once Nick came along, Selena wanted a clear view of him playing outside in the yard, so the soil covering was removed and an enclosed porch added. The area is still incredibly warm with the back of it still being nestled against the hillside. The heat and humidity inside the enclosed porch make it a perfect place for growing plants, and to take a soak in the hot tub and watch the snow fall.
Randy and Selena recently added a new metal roof to the home, and now wish they had added skylights to the project – and are considering adding them. Randy is a postal carrier by trade, but a local hero by nature. As a member of the all-volunteer fire force which serves the county, he is concerned about an escape if a blaze does break out inside the home. Although earth berms are less of a fire hazard than conventional homes, Randy was quick to point out that if a fire starts and his brethren enter the home with hoses, steam will quickly be created and anyone in the back bedrooms could get scorched quickly, in addition to the smoke inhalation they could already be suffering from.
Doesn’t feel closed-in
The bedrooms pressed against the hillside did not appear dark or confined even though there were no windows in the room. A person who thoroughly enjoys quiet and darkness when going to sleep will likely love having an earth berm bedroom. The kitchen inside the Yates’ home is also part of the earth berm wall of the home, but does not feel dark or closed in, either. The wall which was removed does border the kitchen and dining area, but even before the soil was removed, the large glass double-door entryway likely provided ample light into the cooking and eating area.
The enigmatic Randy had another important word of warning about earth berm home construction: Never put a swimming pool on the level ground behind the home. Several years ago, right after installing a new pool liner, the Yates’ pool collapsed while people were floating around in it cooling off. Water from the pool was able to seep over the concrete walls where the roof adjoins. The couple sustained some water damage, and learned a valuable lesson they wanted to share with others considering building an earth berm home.
The earth berm combination shipping container home my husband Bobby is designing for us is going to make good use of the thermal mass for food growing and preservation purposes. The home plan we worked on for hours and finally agreed upon involves two of the shipping containers being placed against earth berm walls. An expansive pantry, storage room, and workshop will be housed inside parts of the storage containers. One wall of an enclosed porch will also be an earth berm. The room will provide a warm and humid location for my Sulcata tortoises to winter and for year-around crop growing.
I am very excited about following Survival Gardener Rick Austin’s Camouflaged Greenhouse design and sustainable heating plan so we can grow not only crops typically found in our region during summer months, but also so we can add miniature citrus trees and coffee trees, as well. Once we decide upon the perfect piece of land and start creating our new home.
“The 80s & 90s were mad crazy wild. Models and actors are like stilettos and short dresses–always together. Beverly is sweet, but, I’ve known Bill Cosby for decades and if he were inappropriate with models it would had spread through the industry like a wild fire. Bill and his amazing wife Camille have always been wonderful and generous to me and David. I know Bev and we were close at that time and she would had told me if he tried to drug and rape her. I remember her being upset for not getting a part with Cosby’s production company. I think they told her she was a bit to sexy; not quiet wholesome enough and lack acting experience. Now, she was upset at the time and after a week or so, she was fine. Also, all of us would continue to see each other at events and parties (The Cosby’s, Bev, David and I) and laugh our butts off.
Also, the industry is so small at the top–the Beverly I know would have had Bill arrested on the spot. I have to agree with Whoopi, Beverly and Bill Cosby simply doesn’t make sense. In conclusion, I know tons of top model friends who have met and worked with Bill an have auditioned for projects and nothing happened. Once again, we are a close group of models and the shit would had hit the fan if Bill Cosby were drugging and assaulting women. In those days, everyone was sleeping with everyone and drugs were apart of a models diet.
As far as the Playboy mansion… no way would they let a 15 year old enter the mansion. Hugh has serious security at the gate. Hugh has never had legal issues at the mansion and that’s why his secruity has aways been top notch..” Iman
Supermodel Beverly Johnson appeared on The View this morning to discuss the recent Vanity Fairarticle in which she alleges that Bill Cosby drugged her in the mid ’80s at the height of The Cosby Show. Naturally, this meant bumping heads with The View‘s resident rape apologist, Whoopi
My head became woozy, my speech became slurred, and the room began to spin nonstop. Cosby motioned for me to come over to him as though we were really about to act out the scene. He put his hands around my waist, and I managed to put my hand on his shoulder in order to steady myself.
As I felt my body go completely limp, my brain switched into automatic-survival mode. That meant making sure Cosby understood that I knew exactly what was happening at that very moment.
“You are a motherfucker aren’t you?”
I recall his seething anger at my tirade and then him grabbing me by my left arm hard and yanking all 110 pounds of me down a bunch of stairs as my high heels clicked and clacked on every step. I feared my neck was going to break with the force he was using to pull me down those stairs.
[…] When we reached the front door, he pulled me outside of the brownstone and then, with his hand still tightly clenched around my arm, stood in the middle of the street waving down taxis.
When one stopped, Cosby opened the door, shoved me into it and slammed the door behind me without ever saying a word.
Johnson repeated her account on The View and was, despite the occasional nervous stumbling over her words, very straightforward about the events that allegedly occurred in Bill Cosby’s brownstone. Still, Goldberg, Cosby’s friend and frequent victim doubter, could not wrap her head around what went down.
The popularity of the tiny house movement has led to so many good new small home designers and builders that it’s difficult to keep track of them all. We know that making a list inevitably means we’ll leave some great companies out but, nevertheless, we wanted to highlight some of the small house companies we’ve covered on Apartment Therapy, ranging from modern to traditional, prefab to custom built.
The Tumbleweed Tiny House Company: Around 1997, Jay Schafer began pioneering the art of building and living in small spaces—”low-impact architecture,” as he calls it. All of the houses are finely crafted and designed to be used as a home or a weekend escape, and prices start at $38,000 for the smallest home.
Weehouse / Alchemy Architects: Minnesota’s Alchemy Architects are the makers of the modular prefab weeHouse, a modern home that averages around $150 per square foot (some models are more, others are less). Homes can be fitted with solar panels and off-the-grid energy kits.
Clayton Homes i-house: Warren Buffet’s modular housing business, Clayton Homes, launched the i-house in 2009. It’s a prefab model that starts at 723 square feet for around $75,000 and includes a number of standard green features, such as Energy Star appliances.
Metroship: David Ballinger, the creator and designer of the MetroShed has spun off his latest project with a similar modern aesthetic and focus BUT this one floats — it’s the MetroShip Houseboat. The prefab luxury house boat starts at a base price of $239,000.
Rocio Romero: Missouri-based designer Rocio Romero is well known for her minimalist prefab homes, which arrive flat-packed and can go up in a few months’ time. Prices for the standard “LV Home” average about $120-$195/square foot including shipping, foundation, and finishing costs.
Little House on the Trailer: Stephen Marshall designs and builds tiny homes on top of a flatbed trailer, then rolls them out to his client’s site. Marshall custom designs each space and offers three types of structures up to 400 square feet: dwellings complete with kitchen and bath, offices, and art galleries. Prices range from $45,000 to $65,000.
Katrina Cottages: After Hurricane Katrina devastated America’s Gulf coast in 2005, architect Marianne Cusato designed and developed one of the most popular low-cost emergency shelters: the 308 sf Katrina Cottage, available now in over twenty-five different versions and sizes. The company sells plans (beginning around $700) for the homes.
Pacific Yurts: Based on traditional yurts constructed by Central Asian nomads for centuries, yurts are round and can be erected in hours. While a platform is necessary, a standard 12′ yurt will run you $3,950 and you can increase the size (up to 30′) and the extras (like windows, doors, insulation, etc.) to suit your comfort.
Tiny Texas Houses: Builder Brad Kittel makes these Texas “Tiny Houses” from 95% recycled materials. Unlike modern prefab mini-homes, each one is unique and reflects the style of its salvaged parts. Prices range from $42,000 to $155,000 depending on size.

(NaturalNews) In some places across the US, high-cost health insurance coverage is being discarded altogether. The looming Affordable Care Act health insurance mandate seems to be inspiring constructive disobedience. Yes, doctors are now “outsmarting” this government mandated health care system and moving towards a cash only system. This is leading to more affordable, expansive care for many – as the red tape is eliminated. Quality, affordable health care will return to America, not through blind compliance to mandates, but from those who completely defy the health insurance system altogether. As doctors move toward a much simpler system, they can charge less and also spend more time caring about their patients instead of dealing with unneeded paperwork.
Kansas physician cuts through the red tape
This is exactly what’s happening in Wichita, Kansas. The red tape is being cut down. This Kansas family physician, Doug Nunamaker, says he is now offering higher quality health care at a fraction of the cost after abandoning the entire money-bloated insurance system. He now effectively cuts overhead costs and charges his patients a small monthly fee, reducing medical service costs across the board.
Tired of all the red tape and insurance paperwork over the last five years, 32-year old Nunamaker decided to simplify his practice. Noticing how wasteful the system really was, Nunamaker realized that he paid an entire staff to manage health insurance red tape. By ditching this system, Nunamaker has been able to lower costs to patients and spend more time actually caring for them.
Most of Nunamaker’s clients are self employed, small business owners. These patients are now testifying that a small monthly fee to Nunamaker’s office is much more affordable than modern day health insurance plans (which are set to be mandated on Americans in 2014).
A more efficient route based on personal choice
Nunamaker also recommends to his patients that they opt to carry a high deductible health insurance plan to cover extreme emergencies that may require hospitalization. This option, coupled with Nunamer’s monthly fee, continues to be much more affordable than buying into current health insurance packages.
With much simpler options on the table, Nunamaker presents a more efficient way for Americans to be covered in case of an emergency and also providing inexpensive access to a wide variety of care.
In this way, healthy people aren’t forced to pay for another person’s poor lifestyle choices (like under Obamacare).
Nunamaker’s way also prevents a select few from feeling “entitled” to free healthcare. Everyone who chooses to participate pays a reasonable fair share based on age. Under Obamacare, nearly everyone, whether they choose or not, pays for everyone’s universal medical expenses, necessary and unnecessary.
Nunamaker working with colleagues to provide expansive network of affordable care
Under the Nunamaker’s basic membership plan, patients pay a flat monthly fee based on age that allows them to access unlimited “direct primary care” from medical providers that work at his practice.
For example, pediatric services are accessible for only $10 a month. Adults up to age 44 only pay $50 a month. Anyone over 44 pays only $100 a month. This cash only method, which also encompasses credit and debit transactions, is bypassing hours of wasted time, bloated prices, and red tape. It effectively goes around the new “Affordable Care Act” and actually offers affordable care. For example, a basic cholesterol test only costs his patients $3, compared to a typical $90 charge brought on by an insurance company.
Nunamaker is also working with professionals outside his office to create a network of coverage that includes services he cannot provide. He and a colleague have already got the price of an MRI down to $400, compared to what they were charging through insurance companies – around $2,000.
Obamacare requires all Americans to pay for the stupid decisions of others, like “walking into a lamppost”
As this Wichita family physician cuts through red tape, the Affordable Care Act is poised to add more new red tape to health care, which includes 122,000 new health codes. These codes include absurdities like “injuries sustained from a turtle,” or “injuries sustained from walking into a lamppost.”
As Americans are forced to pay for absurd medical decisions and even ones that go against their personal beliefs, many doctors across the US will have the option to defy Obamacare, giving Americans individual liberty to choose the medical services and health care they deem appropriate for themselves.
As more red tape befalls America, the best doctors will lead with integrity and show some guts, adopting a more responsible form of health care. The US can move back toward a much simpler, less expensive form of healthcare. A government mandated system that caters to pharmaceutical companies is destroying true healthcare.
